Eco-Black expanded cork

The Eco-Black chipboard is the best for thermal insulation. It also acts as an acoustic insulation by absorption.

ECO-BLACK THERMO-ACOUSTIC INSULATING CORK. PURE AGLOMERATE WITHOUT ADHESIVES. ECOLOGICAL. DENSITY 110/115 Kg / M.3

It is manufactured in plates of 1, - x 0.50, - m.

On request it can be manufactured in 915 x 610 mm sheets. 

In standard thicknesses of 20, - / 30, - / 40, - / 50, - / 60, - / 80, - / 100, - mm 

On request, for special orders it can be manufactured up to 300, -mm thick. It can also be manufactured in 120 mm and 150 mm. 

It is a product composed of virgin forest cork that is crushed into grains. it agglomerates in block and later it is cut in plates. It has a special manufacturing method by pressing it in a closed autoclave, injecting water vapor at high pressure and temperature and the suberine which acts as a binder is melted, and at the same time its composition cells expand. The melted suberine is what causes its peculiar smell of toasting, which over time is losing.

Orientatively for a very good isolation:

In perimeter walls it is advisable to use a minimum thickness of 50, -mm. And for covers from 80 to 100, -mm. Although the exact final calculation corresponds to the project technician.

For thicknesses greater than 50, -mm it is advisable to install two or three thicknesses in several layers, placed to break together to avoid thermal leakage, thereby increasing the insulating efficiency. For rehabilitation of existing constructions, in which the insulation inside must be improved, it can be fixed directly to walls and ceilings with all mortars and glues available in the market (including plaster and plasterboard paste), and if you want It can be plastered directly with plaster or mortar.

When installed outside the buildings:

• It is a very good solution for ventilated facades.

• Use: insulation of roofs, ceilings, walls, cold rooms, etc. 
• You only have to take into account, in case you have to be installed indoors, its light and characteristic roasted smell, due to the manufacturing process, which over time is losing.

Invulnerable to insects and microorganisms. Eco-Black expanded cork has an aqueous moisture content of less than 8%. This low water content makes the proliferation of microorganisms impossible. The suberin distillation process neutralizes the plant sap and is indigestible by rodents or insects. These particularities give it unlimited durability. Unlike wood and other organic or vegetable insulators, this expanded cork never rots or destroys.

Maximum humidity level: 8% - EN 1215. Waterproof and non-hygroscopic. It maintains intact qualities even in environments with high ambient humidity.

Special manufacturing with a higher density of 145-160 Kg/m.3, to be able to be installed on outdoor building facades. 

Thermal and acoustic insulation in construction.  Prepared to install in all areas such as roofs, ceilings, walls, floors. Maximum humidity level: 8% – EN 1215. Water-repellent, breathable and non-hygroscopic. It maintains intact qualities even in environments with high ambient humidity. Allows walls and roofs to breathe. 

• Certification:   FSC® - Forest Stewardship Council. It is obtained without cutting down the tree.
• Environmental Product Declaration: DAP Hábitat. Sustainable product: Composed of renewable raw materials, 100% recyclable. Environmentally friendly. It keeps CO2 retained throughout its useful life. Reduction of the greenhouse effect.
• To avoid transmission leaks and rain permeability at the joints , the half-round shaped contour is machined for the plates to fit. It is possible to do it between thicknesses of 40.- to 240.-mm.
• Keep in mind that with the half-round fit machining around the entire contour of the plates to avoid transmission leaks and rain permeability in the joints, normally 2.- centimeters, the coated surface decreases by 12%. Therefore, they must increase each item to compensate for this circumstance.
